Luster-On Aluminescent
is a product used to form a
conversion coating on aluminum surfaces without the use of hexavalent chromium. Aluminescent is a
replacement for yellow or clear hexavalent chromates and provides excellent corrosion protection at
low cost and forms a base for paint, lacquer, or rubber bonding. The chromate can be applied by dip,
spray, brush, swab, or roll coating, requires no electric current, cooling or exhaust. Luster-On
Aluminescent yields clear, slightly iridescent films while forming a protective surface with lower
electrical resistance than anodizing. Luster-On Aluminescent is suitable for both wrought and cast
aluminum alloys and is designed for ease of operation with minimum control.

Luster-On Tridescent
is
a hexavalent-free trivalent chromate that provides 125 hours salt spray protection. Tridescent is the
clear replacement for yellow iridescent chromate films on zinc and zinc alloys. It exceeds the
requirements of ASTM B-633 Type II, may be baked at 400 F, and readily fits into existing chromate cycles.
