Blue Bright / Clear Chromates
For Zinc
LUSTER-ON 45: Luster-On 45 is a powdered material that is used as a single dip to produce a brilliant clear chromate conversion coating on zinc plated
surfaces. The surface is also passivated to prevent staining, tarnishing and white corrosion products. Luster-On 45 is extremely easy and economical to use.
LUSTER-ON 52:
An easy to use, economical powdered product, which will produce in a single dip, slightly bluish finishes on zinc plate. Provides protection against staining and corrosion.
LUSTER-ON 64M:
An economical chromate conversion material for zinc based die-castings. Surfaces can be chemically polished to a bright blue finish. A protective film is also formed that passivates and retards the formation of white corrosion products. The treatment in Luster-On 64M can also be used as preparation of base metal prior to plating
LUSTER-ON 65:
A liquid chromate material for polishing and passivating zinc based die-castings. It may be used as the final finish to prevent the formation of white corrosion products.
LUSTER-ON 68P:
Luster-On 68P is formulated to give superior performance in the economical formation of yellow chromate films on zinc based die castings. It can also be used effectively on zinc or cadmium plate.
LUSTER-ON 69:
Luster-On 69 is a single component liquid chromate which produces an olive drab conversion coating on zinc plated surfaces and die castings. The film exhibits outstanding corrosion resistance and can be used as the final finish to passivate and prevent the formation of white corrosion products. The film can be also used as an excellent base for subsequent painting operations. The film produced by Luster-On 69 is also receptive to dyes and water emulsifiable lacquers.
LUSTER-ON 80: This product produces a clear chromate film on galvanized surfaces that resist staining, discoloration and corrosion.
LUSTER-ON 260 & 260A:
Concentrated liquid products, which brighten and passivate zinc plated parts. These single dip type chromates produce a distinct bluish hue. The bluish cast is less pronounced in Luster-On 260 than in 260A. Offers extremely economical make-up and operating cost. Recommended for automatic installations for uniformity of results and ease of control.
LUSTER-ON 267
is a hexavalent chromium containing single dip chromate for zinc plated surfaces. It is a liquid concentrate that is used at 0.5 - 1.5% to form a bright conversion coating with a bluish hue. Luster-On 267 is free from all fluorides and does not require nitric acid additions, maintenance is by addition of Luster-On 267 only. The chromate film is receptive to subsequent dyeing operations. Luster-On 267 far exceeds the requirements of ASTM B-633, Type III and can be controlled automatically through the use of a Luster-On Chromate Controller.
LUSTER-ON TRI-BLUE:
An extraordinary blue bright chromate for zinc plated surfaces; trivalent chrome only, no hexavalent chrome, simplified waste treatment. Corrosion protection that meets most specifications for hexavalent blue bright. Long life. Bright, uniform blue produced by steady state chemistry, which assures repeatable day to day results.
LUSTER-ON TRI-BLUE 500: An economical trivalent chromate used at 1-2% by volume for a bright, uniform blue finish without the use of hexavalent chrome.
LUSTER-ON TRI-BLUE 700
is an economical single dip, trivalent chromate for zinc plated surfaces. It is a liquid concentrate, which provides a bright-passivated finish with a blue tint. Luster-On Tri-Blue 700 offers a long operating life. Its unique design makes it suitable for acid chloride, alkaline or cyanide plated zinc.
LUSTER-ON SEALER 505
is a combination chromate conversion coating and organic polymer which dries to produce a clear, protective film on zinc galvanized and zinc electroplated surfaces. This product is ideal for protection in continuous strip applications. The hard film produced by properly applied Luster-On Sealer 505 provides improved corrosion and abrasion resistance. This material is a dry-on chromate product, which results in the additional advantage of eliminating the need to treat chrome rinses.
FOR CADMIUM
LUSTER-ON 55A: A powdered type chromate conversion coating for cadmium that will produce a bright clear finish. It will also passivate and protect the
cadmium surface. Luster-On 55A is a single dip product, which does not require a leach; for installation where space is a factor.
